Are we there yet?

We've been promised spring this week. The temperature is a little up today, but there's still no real warmth in the air.

And so I'm actively waiting like a kid in the backseat; for leaves to obscure my view, for fresh parsley and sun and lemonade on the balcony, for the rhythmic thump of desperate joggers on the street outside and the rush of spring swell from the river.

Come on...

I'm not the one holding back, I promise. What if someone is? Maybe someone accidentally trapped spring in their front pocket or on their iPod while walking in one of Oslo's parks last weekend.

Then it could take forever.

It is a little chilly here, too, but the flowers are going gangbusters and I CANNOT.STOP.SNEEZING. So Spring has clearly sprung, and the Jet Stream will carry it to you very soon. If not, I will bring it myself. Along with, as requested, the entire city of New York. I can't wait for the ticket agent's face when she asks me if I have bags to check and I ask if the cargo hold can contain the sun, 6 tons of pollen, and 8.5 million people. ;)

Yes, yes, bring New York, Central Park and delis and coffee shops and breakfast places and beautiful shops and hard-to-pin-down-but-knock-out wonderfulness!

Maybe skip the lakes in the park, sice they're liquid.

Can't wait to meet you!

I'll bring the lakes, as long as I can find a ziploc bag that's large enough.

AAAAAHHHH-CHOOOO! (sniff)

Can't wait to meet you, either!

Can I have bagles from one of those little carts that only seem to exist at around 9 in the morning?

Sure, but you can get better bagels. The little carts DO appear at about 7-8 am, but they stick around through lunch. They start disappearing mid-afternoon and have vanished without a trace by nightfall. They are affectionately known as "roach coaches," although they still sell some tasty coffee and bagels.
